Fish n Chips at Nightcliff
The Club held an additional social event on Saturday, 24 March 2012 at Nightcliff Swimming Pool car park.  Despite the threatening skies which only amounted to a few spots, a number of members turned up on the night with fish n chips in hand.  It was great to see two new members, Darren and Terina Smith (and daughter) and Bradley McDonald.  Welcome to our newest members.

April Event:  Breakfast at Darwin River Dam, Sunday 1 April 2012
With the BBQ trailer in tow, we congregated at Coolalinga before heading off to Darwin River Dam for breakfast.  Carolyn, Roger, Blake and Bonnie led the convoy from Coolalinga to Darwin River Dam in a leisurely drive which saw us all arrive at our destination at the same time.  Thanks to Roger, Eric, John, Brian and Troy for cooking up a great breakfast.  Thanks also to Rod and Rita Coverdale for the bakery delights.

February Event:  Breakfast at Coomalie, Sunday 5 February 2012
The Club’s first run on Sunday 5 February 2012 to Coomalie Creek was a huge success.  The trip down went smoothly.  It was great to see regular faces and a couple of members that we hadn’t seen for a while including Barry Brown, Peter Boscato and Dwight & Heidi Brieffies. Upon arrival members quickly had the BBQ set up.  Resident Club chef Steve Thompson cooked up a feast of bacon, eggs and sausages.  We would like to especially thank John Clacy (where’s the GS ute?) for towing the Club’s trailer down to Coomalie.  Mark Winter has kindly volunteered to tow it to an upcoming event and if anyone else can do so, then please let a committee or office bearer know.  In addition, Rod Coverdale (owner of the Howard Springs Bakery) has offered to help with catering at Club events by providing bread and bread rolls.  Upon departing a number of members took the opportunity to run their cars hard up through the gears (in a responsible way I might add) which resulted in some awesome take offs and noise.
